Proprietor's Letter Summer 2020

Dear Members, Guests, & Writers,

When my parents and I first envisioned starting a boutique label and inviting guests to visit Stolo Vineyards, we were looking to keep the authenticity of the property along with creating a beautiful garden setting.  The decision was made to keep the large dairy barn built in the late 1800s as a “working barn”.  It was only fitting to let this beautiful piece of history continue down its path of housing farm animals, equipment, and supplies.  Today, it remains home to our three goats; Betty, Penny, and Abby, and a handful of chickens. It is homebase to our vineyard team and equipment and the hub of all vineyard activity, especially this time of year.  There was no doubt in our minds that honoring this barn by not changing a thing was essential to keeping the history on this property alive.

My father had big plans for the landscape of the newly built tasting room back in 2012.  His vision is what guests now see; a sprawling grassy meadow for lounging the day away capped with rows of seasonal flowers blooming for all to enjoy.  We had no idea eight years ago just how valuable that meadow would be to us today!  Because of his vision, we are able to continue to host guests outside, safely spread out and among the beauty of the property.  In the past years, there have been many large celebrations held on the meadow; family, guests, club members, and industry.  We are grateful to be able to continue to add to the history of this property as cheers and laughter from celebrations past and guest visits become part of the fabric of Stolo Vineyards.

As we look towards the 2020 harvest season, we are grateful to all our guests and club members who have sung our praises over the years.  This year brings new accolades from the wine industry including a 97 point score for our beloved 2018 Estate Syrah. We are so honored that the hard work our vineyard, cellar, and tasting room crews put in does not go unnoticed.  We are equally honored that our guests enjoy their experiences and share the love on social media.  It is so amazing to see tagged posts and photos of Stolo Vineyards and hear first hand about guests experiences while visiting us.

It has no doubt been an unbelievably stressful, uncertain, and crazy year for all of us.  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for continuing to visit and support us.  We look forward to creating new memories with you.
